SINGAPORE: Institute Of Risk Management that had recently awarded SMRT the International Risk Management Award apparently did not factor in the risk of fire in consideration for the award.
In the latest incident the Bukit Panjang LRT will be suspended until Tuesday morning (Mar 10) SMRT announced on Monday evening. Due to a fire that broke out at Senja station’s plant room at about 5.45pm, where power-tie breakers were found to be damaged.
In a statement on Facebook at about 7pm, SMRT said: “Services on the BPLRT will not resume this evening. We are working to recover service by tomorrow morning and are investigating the cause of the incident.”
“How the hell did they get the award?” asked Tan Lee Lin, 34 a private tutor.
“It’s like Mexico City winning the safest city in the world award.”
