The deadly MERS virus that has killed hundreds of people in the Middle East particularly in Saudi Arabia has taken hold in South Korea. The disease has spread and is now infecting 15 people.
South Korea’s Health Minister apologised for failing to halt an outbreak of the virus, vowing “utmost efforts” to curb the disease’s spread.
Health officials have come under fire for allowing an infected man to travel to China despite warnings from doctors. The 44-year-old left on a business trip on Tuesday, a day after his father was diagnosed with the virus, and was confirmed on Friday to have been infected himself. The man flew to Hong Kong before visiting the Chinese city of Huizhou by bus.
With the start of the June school holidays, many families are planning to go to South Korea for vacation. To them we say; take care and be healthy always!
