From: The Editorial Board (It’s Meena Current’s fault!)
This is in reference to our article about the woman who was jailed for 5 days for making curry puffs.
Unlike our now defunct adopted-japanese-sister-twice-removed site that shall not be named because they are now embroiled in a legal tussle about plagiarism, we are a responsible site and we apologise when we have made a mistake.
So we would like to apologise for our over-the-top article. But hey! You cannot blame us for being OTT when we heard of a poor people getting hassled.
The NEA has since issued a statement that the woman is not as innocent as she wanted The New Paper reporter to believe.
The woman was actually the head honcho of an illegal curry-puff making syndicate! So we have to agree on NEA’s course of action. You can never be certain of these syndicates. The woman might start to enjoy her new found power and decide to corner the curry-puff market in Singapore! We don’t want all our curry-puffs to taste the same. She might even set-up her own Mafia family and start to ask for protection money from all other curry-puff makers and sellers in Singapore, Batam and JB!
But in all seriousness, the NEA is just doing their job at ensuring that that our food supply is safe. Blame that New Paper reporter for failing to get to the bottom of this.
Now that we have gotten our apology out of the way, it doesn’t mean that we are friends.
This weekend we will be going on a fault-finding mission.
We heard that there are rats somewhere in Punggol.
