KTPH Shooting Incident – Man Faces Death Penalty

This case would at least explain once and for all why Police suspects needed to be handcuffed regardless of the offence. Because of stupidity.

Muhammad Iskandar Sa’at, 23, the man involved in the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) shooting was charged with the unlawful discharge of a firearm this afternoon faces the death penalty if convicted.

Iskandar is accused of using a .38 calibre Taurus revolver and firing three shots, intending to cause physical injury to Mr Mohammad Sadli Razali, 31. The incident is believed to have happened at about 7.05pm on Saturday (June 20) at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun.

No plea was taken as prosecutors asked for more time for investigations because the offence is “fairly serious and fairly recent”.

The judge agreed and his case will be heard again in court on June 29, along with another charge for an unrelated offence.

Iskandar was first arrested for theft but was brought to the hospital for a medical check-up after he complained of chest pains.

While he was being examined, he tried to snatch the revolver of the policeman escorting him and in the scuffle that ensued, he fired one shot injuring the cop’s hand.

We shall wait with bated breath for his loved ones to say that he is a good man…..
