Have You Seen This Man? Thai police seek Interpol help to track bomb suspect

This image released by the Royal Thai Police on August 19, 2015 shows the photofit of a man suspected to be the Bangkok bomber, seen on security footage leaving a backpack at a shrine moments before a bomb detonated, killing 20 people and wounding scores more on August 17. Thai police on August 19 released a detailed sketch of the suspected Bangkok bomber, who "might be foreign or Thai", according to national police spokesman Prawut Thavornsiri. If you happened to look like the caricature above, you better hide or grow a beard.

As far as we know, there have never been a case where an international arrest warrant is issued against a nameless, stateless cartoon drawing.

However Thailand has now asked Interpol for help in tracking down the man they believe planted a bomb in Bangkok that killed 20 people, sending the international police organisation an image of the suspected bomber.

There has been no claim of responsibility and police have not determined a motive for the worst ever bomb attack in Thailand.

Police suspect the young man caught in grainy footage leaving a backpack at the crowded shrine shortly before the explosion is foreign but Kissana said Thai police were not focused on any particular country or region with their appeal to Interpol.

Thailand has also said that they are looking for about 10 people who are believed to be accomplices.

The Erawan shrine at a main city-centre intersection is popular with tourists from China and other East Asian countries. About half the victims were foreigners.
